WISLA

The Polish government selected IBCS to serve as the centerpiece of the country’s modernization strategy for their WISLA Medium Range air and missile defense program. IBCS will provide transformational, leap-ahead capabilities for Poland’s air and missile defense modernization program, while enhancing interoperability with Allies and NATO.

Armaments

Northrop Grumman has a long-standing relationship with the Polish Land Forces, providing them with the MK44 and the MK44 Stretch Bushmaster® Chain Gun® integrated on to the KTO Rosomak infantry fighting vehicle. The Rosomak integration makes Poland the largest user and most extensive installed base of our MK44 Bushmaster Chain Gun worldwide. Poland also is the largest user of Northrop Grumman's aftermarket services. Each year, we provide maintenance and user training as well as spare parts to keep the Polish Land Forces' Rosomak fleet combat ready.

MK44 Stretch

Northrop Grumman is proudly supporting the next generation of Polish Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) with our MK44 Stretch Cannon and suite of advanced ammunition with air bursting technology (Mk310). Integration of the MK44 Stretch for the Borsuk IFV provides interoperability advantages with US forces in Europe and flexibility in ammunition selection between current 30mm and scaling up to our Super Shot 40mm.

Northrop Grumman currently supports in-country barrel manufacturing; Medium-caliber ammunition, fuses and propellants industrial cooperation.

Northrop Grumman’s M1147 Advanced Multi Purpose (AMP) 120mm cartridge is the next generation high explosive multipurpose round for the ABRAMS M1A2 main battle tank (MBT). The round, when fielded, will replace four rounds currently in inventory.

Translating History Into Action

A translator and interpreter at Northrop Grumman’s office in Poland’s capital city of Warsaw, Beata was the first person hired in-country by the company four years ago.

Beata, who supports the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) program, carries with her the history of her country and how that impacts her daily work toward a system that will allow Poland to better defend itself.

Leadership

Krzysztof Krystowski is the country lead executive for Poland. In his position he is responsible for executing the company’s market strategy, business development plan and government relations in country.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Krystowski served as vice president of the European Clusters Alliance, a pan-European organization representing more than 150,000 innovative European businesses He is also president of the Polish Clusters Association and President of the Silesian Aviation Cluster. Prior to that he held senior leadership roles within the Polish aerospace and defense sector including, vice president of Leonardo Helicopters Poland; president of Polish Defence Holding (Bumar Group), and president, Avio Polska.

Before entering the defense industry, Krystowski served as deputy minister in the Polish Ministry of the Economy between 2003 to 2005.
