Northrop Grumman’s AARGM-ER is a supersonic, air-launched tactical missile system, the most advanced counter-air-defense system for today’s most modern surface-to-air threats.

AARGM-ER leverages existing AARGM components and adds a new high-performance air vehicle, propulsion system and advanced warhead to provide vital counter-air-defense capability for U.S Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and International Partners.

Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM)

AARGM is a supersonic, medium-range, air-launched tactical missile designed to engage and destroy enemy air defenses and time-critical, mobile targets.

An upgrade to the High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) (AGM-88) system, more than 1500 AARGM missiles have been delivered in total to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, Italian Air Force, the Royal Australian Air Force, and the German Luftwaffe.

Stand-In Attack Weapon (SiAW) Missile

The U.S. Air Force’s SiAW missile system enables disruption of an Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) environment through rapid, lethal engagement of relocatable targets.

Northrop Grumman’s SiAW solution can be integrated on a variety of aircraft and leverages lessons learned on the Navy’s AARGM-ER and integration work on the F-35 aircraft.

To provide more rapid development and facilitate future upgrades, Northrop Grumman is using best practices for agile software development, digital engineering, and Weapon Open Systems Architecture (WOSA).

Ground-Based Strike Missiles

Always at the forefront of weapons development, Northrop Grumman is creating new classes of strategically important weapons which achieve overmatch, through enhanced speed, survivability, stand-off range, and lethality so warfighters who go into harm’s way can safely and effectively complete their missions.

Advanced Reactive Strike (AReS), shown left, is a high-speed, autonomous, survivable, surface-launched AARGM-ER, designed to attack land and sea targets in a complex A2/AD environment, offering a new layer of protection for friendly forces.

Defining Purpose

Keeping our warfighters safe is top-priority for Northrop Grumman. Engaging from a safe distance, long-range, high-speed strike keep aircrews safe while executing missions. Rapid threat engagement and time-sensitive target strikes takes place outside the range of adversary threats.
